In a news release Monday from the Killeen Economic Development Corporation, officials announced the upcoming opening of a new family entertainment center which plans to offer local jobs to Killeen-area residents.

The City of Killeen’s Development Services’ division of the Downtown Revitalization program has won the Texas Downtown Achievement award for the Best Economic Game Changer, the city announced.

To determine the most affordable college towns, WalletHub evaluated 415 cities of various sizes that had a college or university population of at least 7,500 students. Several factors were used to rank the cities, including housing costs; monthly fitness club fees; the average price of pizza, burgers, movies and bowling; and the cost of higher education.
