Barry Albrecht brings over 30 years of experience in economic development and site selection, with a distinct specialization in defense industries and communities. He has served as CEO of several regional economic development organizations across Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma, where he played a key role in supporting major military and federal installations and agencies.
Prior to his economic development career, Albrecht spent 12 years at Hughes Aircraft Company as a business development executive and served six years as a U.S. Army aviator.
 
In 2019, he founded Strategic Location Services LLC (SLS), a veteran-owned, full-service economic development and corporate location advisory firm. SLS focuses on delivering strategic advisory services to defense-oriented industries and communities. Since its founding, the firm has completed 18 site selection projects and provided economic development support to over a dozen defense communities.
 
In May of this year, Barry was appointed to the role of President of the Killeen Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation. Located in Central Texas, Killeen is home to Fort Cavazos, one of the largest United States Army installations in the US, which contributes an estimated $38.8 billion to the Texas economy.
 
Albrecht is a Certified Economic Development Master Practitioner (MEDP), a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute and holds multiple leadership certificates from Cornell University. In recognition of his contributions to military installations, service members, and their families, he was awarded the Department of the Defense Outstanding Civilian Service Medal.
