On January 30, 2010 the Greater Killeen Young Professionals (GKYP) held a benefit concert to raise scholarship dollars for Texas A&M University - Central Texas (TAMU - CT) students. The concert was held at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, and featured 3 bands spread across several hours.

Another top state ranking has been achieved by the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area, with the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index listing the MSA residents as No. 1 in Texas for being satisfied with their well-being and enjoying the highest quality of life.

Students at Texas A&M University-Central Texas will start class on a new campus in January 2012, officials say.
Lawrence Good, president of Good Fulton & Farrell, the architectural firm in charge of the project, gave community leaders a glimpse of what the future campus would look like Friday at a Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce meeting.
