2008/2009 GKCC Priorities

The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce provides vision, leadership and support to business and
community leaders to create economic prosperity.  As an extension of this mission statement our board adopts a set of priorities that influences the day to day operations of the Chamber.  The number one benefit to being a member of the Chamber is knowing that there is an advocate for these priorities.

Priority #1 - Fort Hood

Collaborate with others to ensure that Fort Hood is fully utilized (50,000 troops) by the year 2010

Priority #2 - Higher Education

Assist in establishing Texas A&M University - Central Texas as an upper-level, stand-alone unversity

Priority #3 - Aiport Business Expansion

Capitalize on the new regional airport

Priority #4 - Start-up, Retain, Expand & Recruit Industry

Focus on programs that will lead to the creation and recruitment of jobs with competitive wages in the service, manufacturing and retail sectors

Priority #5 - Community Image

Place greater emphasis on the positive attributes of the region
